Sandcastles and Sailing Boats
We had tremendous fun today at the Tresaith Mariners' Regatta - Mr Cwtch and his sons were sailing in the races, and I had my very first trip on a sailing boat. My usual sport of rowing is a little less complicated, with less ropes and moving around to balance the boat, but I really enjoyed the speed of the boat and the beautiful views of Tresaith Beach and Penbryn in the distance. We finished off the watery sports with a bit of coasteering along the rocks. Great fun.
Also held today on Tresaith was a sandcastle competition - and some of the amazing ones on display are shown here. The included a turtle or two and a very spiky dragon in addition to a couple of very impressive 'proper' sandcastles. My favourites were the dolphin and the mermaid, although they were all fantastic. By the time we left the beach though they were all lost to the tide.
To top off the day, some real dolphins were spotted just off of the beach, much to the delight of the many holiday makers who flocked to the water's edge with their cameras! After all of that excitement, we enjoyed a tasty hog roast roll and a good beer before wending our way home.
All in all a very enjoyable day :)
